Re: loading styles from SD card

Did you save it from your computer or from your keyboard? Did you save it to the hard disk of your computer or to an SD Card or to a floppy disk or to your favourites?

Re: loading styles from SD card

MORTRUDE has responded by email to say that he is saving to SD Card from the KN7000.

I'm not sure how to help but I'll give some explanation.

To use a Style, you Load it from the SD Card or you create a Style.

If you want to Save it, you should give it a new name during the Save process, otherwise you won't recognise it the next time you want to Load it.

I suspect that you have Loaded a Style and Saved it in the same location. You must use the NAMING option when you save, to give it a new name. Also you need to remember which folder you Saved it in so that you can re-Load it in the future.

Re: loading styles from SD card

I loaded styles to my sd card using SDEXPLORER. I inserted the sd card in my KN7000 keyboard. Pressed and held the sd button. I got the files on my screen, and scrolled downed to file 67, and liked the JIVE rhythm. Now question is how do I save it to my custom file, or anywhere else?

Re: loading styles from SD card

KN7000 has two different features called Favorites (I'd better use the American spelling, we spell it Favourites in the UK!). So, to be clear, we are talking here about SD Favorites.

The SD Favorites feature is SPECIFIC TO ONE SD CARD. So, each SD Card has it's own Favorites list.

This makes absolute sense because you are setting your Favorite Style off that particular SD Card!

The list gets saved on the SD Card, not in the keyboard's memory.

So, if you put the SD Card in another KN7000, you see the same SD Favorites.

Here's how to use it:

------------------------------

Put the SD Card in the keyboard.

Press the yellow SD button.

Press Favorite Songs on the display.

NOTE that there are FORTY Banks of Favorites PER SD Card.

Select the Bank that you want to store the Style in.

Press Favorite Song Settings on the display.

Press BANK NAMING and give your Bank a name.

Find the Song you like in the list. So in this case, Folder 67, Song 1 (Jive). HOLD DOWN the SET button and select the position where you want to store the Style. Repeat this to store a few Styles in different locations.

You must press OK for the edits you have done to take effect and be saved on the SD Card.

---------------------------------

Now, when you want to recall your Favorites you just press the SD Button and Favorite Songs. Pick the Song you want and it will load off the SD Card.

Thank you soooo much. The instructions you gave were excellent. I followed them, and it worked.

Re: loading styles from SD card

When I linked to you with Teamviewer we saved the Styles Series Y1 files on your hard drive in Documents > My Technics Keyboard Files > Styles Series Y1

We transferred some of them to your SD Card using KN-SDExplorer, in the tenth folder on the SD Card, which we renamed so that you would be able to find it when you insert it in the KN7000.

We repeated that for a few folders.

Re: loading styles from SD card

I got the sd card stufff down pat. The only thing I am confused about, is the styles, Styles Series Y1 has 200 styles files

KN ORIGINS (ZIP)The ZIP file contains a file structure, 38 Directories containing 727 Technics Styles

Re: loading styles from SD card

KN Origins is a zip file containing an SD Card directory structure and 727 Technics Styles. We used that zip to create your SD Card.

After that point everything needs to be done using KN-SDExplorer.

We already put 20 or so of the Styles Series Y1 files on your SD Card using KN-SDExplorer. In directory 10 onwards.

You need to use KN-SDExplorer to put the rest of them on your SD Card.

Then, on your keyboard, you go to directory 10 onwards to load them.
