Hi Mike. I thought I had this sorted but I have just tried to load a spare formatted SD card with the latest Y series Latin styles and somehow the card does not work when put in the 7000. I checked that SD explorer was installed, downloaded the update to my computer , unzipped the file which then showed about 6 folders, then with a blank SD card in the drive I used explorer to drag each folder into it and although when you open the card in the computer it shows the folders when inserted in the 7000 it does not. I did check and found the SD card you loaded for me shows a different on screen display to this last one so it is obvious I have taken a wrong turn somewhere.
You excellent help which I outlined in one of my posts 'Problems sorted' was done so quickly I could not absorb all you did , can you please steer me to a relevant article that gives a walk through type of step by step, I am sure there is one on your web page but I have not found it, many thanks Ken

Re: SD card loading problems continue

Hi Ken,

Before you use an SD Card you must initialise it. There are a few ways to do this but the best one is as follows:

1 - Format the SD Card in your KN7000
2 - Using your KN7000, save literally anything onto the card, using the Technics Save procedure.

This initialises the card and puts the database for the files on it. Until you save something on the card it isn't ready to be used.

Having done the above, you can now use KN-SDExplorer to add files and KN-SDExplorer will update the database on the SD Card, so all should go smoothly.

You can also now delete the original file you saved onto the SD Card with the KN7000. You only did that so that the KN7000 created the database, to initialise the card.

Please use KN-SDExplorer to keep regular backups of all your SD Cards.

Best wishes,
Mike
