SD card not accesed by SD-Jukebox

I reformatted on my KN a SD128 MB card and then copied on it all the files of the KN-ORIGINS-V1.0.
This card works fine on the KN and the SDExplorer.
However, when using it with the SD-Jukebox program, when I select SD, it says: "could not access SD memory card"
Consequently I cannot check out mp3 converted files on this SD card.
Any idea? Thank you.
Bruno

Re: SD card not accesed by SD-Jukebox

Hi Bruno,

Firstly let me apologise because you asked me this by email some time ago, I intended to answer you but the amount of emails ran away with me. It's very easy to lose track of so many emails.

Using Windows, try deleting the empty SD_AUDIO directory off the card and then re-try using SD Jukebox. It is possible that the program needs to make this directory itself. Because I made the directory on my machine it is possible that it doesn't conform to the SD Secure standard on your machine. I know it isn't possible to simply copy SD Cards which already have SD Audio on them and that might also apply to the directory they are in, even if it is empty.

Let me know how you get on here in the forum and I'll see if I can help further if that doesn't work.

Best wishes,
Mike

Re: SD card not accesed by SD-Jukebox

I did as you indicated and deleted the Audio folder.
SD-Jukebox first said the card was corrupted or not formatted. After I removed and replaced it, it returned to the former message : "could not access SD memory card".
I verified in Windows and the audio folder had been recreated.

OK let's try the other way around.

Format the SD Card in the keyboard.

Now try adding an Audio file using SD Jukebox.

If that is successful, add all the other folders from KN-Origins except for the SD_Audio folder.

If it is not successful, let me know.

Re: SD card not accesed by SD-Jukebox

I formatted the card in the keyboard.
SD-Jukebox again said the card was corrupted or not formatted and ask me to format it.
I pressed OK in order to go forward.
It returned again to the former message : "could not access SD memory card".
I verified in Windows: there was only an audio folder. Should I add the other folders of KN-origins?

Re: SD card not accesed by SD-Jukebox

I've had this with some SD Cards for no apparent reason, and yet carrying out the same task with another new SD Card I found that everything works perfectly.
Not sure without checking what is and is not in KN-ORIGINS-V1.0 but assuming it is all MP3s I've now taken to playing my MP3 files through my I-pad into my KN7000 rather than using SD JUkebox and an SD Card because I have found on occasions that an MP3 file on an SD Card loaded through SD Jukebox would just suddenly stall...rare but frustrating went it unpredictably happens when you're out gigging.

Bruno - I also never had much success mixing style files and settings etc with Audio (MP3) files on one SD Card.

Re: SD card not accesed by SD-Jukebox

Thank you Mike and RMepstead for your time and your inputs.
My Jukebox with software 2.4 appears rather capricious and not happy with windows 7 64. It keeps popping "volume control not found" and at time shuts down repeatedly.
I have only this one SD 128 with the problem, so I will uses others. My bunch of 2BG seem to work quite fine with keyboard and programs.
Also, I shall definitely separate styles and converted MP3 and play the last ones through my laptop.
Thanks again,

Re: SD card not accesed by SD-Jukebox

Roger,

Thanks for plugging in to this. I haven't had issues with mixing Styles and audio myself but I don't think I've done it as much as you have, I don't use the audio features often and I've only done it on 512mb and 1Gb cards.

Bruno,

Regarding SD Jukebox playing up, I haven't had any issues myself with any version of Windows. Perhaps I can link to your computer with Teamviewer and see whether I can find any obvious problems. I'll have time to do that the week after next as I have a short holiday then. Things are very busy in work right now.

Regarding the 128mb SD Card, I'm pretty sure you bought it from me and if it isn't meeting expectations I'll swap it with an audio-tested 512mb card if you wish. Email me directly about that if so and I'll arrange it with you.

Both,

KN-Origins has an SD_AUDIO directory in the download but no audio files in the directory. Bruno's reformatting test and subsequent error messages almost certainly reveals that the presence of the directory isn't the issue.

Best wishes,
Mike
