SD card not recognized

When I insert a 8 or 16 GB SD card in my KN7000, it say there is no SD card in the reader.
Is there a special formatting to prepare the card or a special type of card to be used.
Thanks

Re: SD card not recognized

Hi Brunovinci, firstly I should say that there might be exceptions to what I'm about to say but I'm not aware of any.

The KN7000 will only recognise SD cards. It won't recognise SDHC or any of the other "flavours". SD only.

It will recognise SOME 2Gb SD cards but it is only designed for a maximum of 1Gb so it will only format it to 1Gb. Windows PCs might still see 2Gb.

It will not recognise cards that are over 2Gb.

It is best to use SD cards that are 1Gb maximum.

Also, KN7000 will not recognise EVERY 1Gb SD card. You need to find a brand of SD Secure card that it will recognise.

Of course, before use, you have to format the card in the KN7000 (or KN2600) and then, before you use it on a PC you have to save a file to it, so that the KN7000 creates the correct directories. Alternatively, you can prepare the card using the KN-SDExplorer software "Initialise" feature.

If you're looking for cards that will definitely work, please go to the top menu of the site "Shop" and you'll find cards there that have been thoroughly tested by me. Products purchased there come direct from Amazon, we receive a small commission but it doesn't cost you any extra.

For members wishing to support our websites, if you follow any of the links from our shop pages (there are UK & Europe and USA pages), when you make any purchases on Amazon we receive a small commission that goes to pay for the servers. It doesn't cost you extra and we get a commission even if you purchase coffee beans, books or batteries grin

Best wishes,
Mike
