Hello members, smiling
I bought my Kn7000 about a month ago and I instantly fall in love with it. I believe that Kn7000 was 10 to 15 years ahead of any other keyboard in the year 2000. amazing technology and incredible output that few keyboards can match even nowadays.
However, I have loads of Yamaha styles would love to play them through kn7000. I used EMC style works but I didn't get good results especially the drum track (too many brushes that required a lot of tweaking before it sounds any good ). Is there any other way to convert from .sty to .cmp with better results?

Re: Style conversion

Hi Mekki,

Just a month! You must be really enjoying yourself!

Welcome to the websites and forums.

EMC Styleworks is the only way I know of to do this and has had several updates recently to make improvements, so make sure you have the latest update from the download link (which you received from Klaus when you originally purchased the program).

Hundreds of styles converted from Yamaha are available on the TECHNICS KN7000 menu above and in the members area and I'm working on more all the time so keep an eye out for them. I convert the Styles using Styleworks Universal and then do some furtehr edits on the KN7000. For the Y2 series (TYros 3 Styles) I'm also releasing Panel Memories I've made that you will hopefully find to be suitable for the Styles.

I agree that each Style takes quite a bit of work to convert, hopefully you will like the results of my conversions and if not at least they have got you part way there very quickly, you can edit them further using Styleworks or on your KN7000.

And please let us know of any glitches in my Styles by posting messages in the forums, or let me know your thoughts on the conversions as it helps to receive feedback from all of you.

Best wishes,
Mike

Re: Style conversion

Thank you Mike for your comperhensive and detaled reply
And yes I am a proud owner of a kn7000 nowsmiling
and i wish that i owned it long time ago.....
Imazingly i have never played the preset styles due to the fact that the type of the music i play requires especial styles and rhythms that are not present in default styles. The need for custom made styles is usually the case for me, no mater what type of keyboard i play, Technics, Yamaha, Korg....etc
Since i am not a style programer my self, i collected a great deal of custom made styles that are programed by professional local keyboard players.
I will post some samles here to give you an idea of how those styles sound like.
i will do that as soon as i finish my shift here, given the fact that we are allowed to upload files as an attachment...etc
